Dear members of the ISOC-CH Community, This is your final and gentle reminder for the upcoming General Assembly (GV) and Policy Sessions 2025 on February 27th (both in person and online). We also have some important updates to share! Engaging Debate on Swiss E-ID We are excited to host a debate on the Swiss E-ID, a crucial topic that requires careful discussion. Our debate, in English, will provide a valuable opportunity to expand awareness and deepen understanding of the stakes involved. You can read further details about the panelists here: Public Policy Sessions 2025 - ISOC Switzerland Chapter <https://www.isoc.ch/events/public-policy-session-2025/> Standing together with our Global Encryption Coalition partners for strong encryption ISOC Switzerland Chapter has joined over 100 civil society organizations, companies, and cybersecurity experts in co-signing a joint letter led by the Global Encryption Coalition (GEC). Addressed to the UK Home Secretary, the letter urges the Home Office to withdraw its demand that Apple weaken its encrypted services. This demand threatens security, privacy, the economy, and freedom of expression- all of which must be considered in digital identity discussions. As a result,Apple removed its Advanced Data Protectionfeature in the UK. [ISOC-CH Ann] Membership - February 27th events - call for board members - hiring!

Dear ISOC-CH Community, A lot is happening at ISOC-CH lately and here is a list of important points: 1) We are *cleaning up our membership list *and many of you received two days ago the invoice. a) *If you didn't receive it*, it means that you are not an "official" ISOC member, and you need to register if you wish so. b) *if you did receive it by mistake* or you now wish to stop your membership please let us know at treasurer(a)isoc.ch (adding a note on whether you want to stay in this announcement list, which will be transformed to our wider "newsletter"). 2) *February 27th is an important day* for ISOC-CH, at Biel/Bienne or online. a) At 15:00 the *Public Policy Sessions 2025 *will host a very interesting debate on the Swiss E-ID, and you will have also the chance to learn about NGI0 Commons fund. b) The same day at 18:30 there will be our *General Assembly 2025*, where we will discuss important aspects of the ongoing ISOC-CH transition. *** Please register as soon as possible to both events to facilitate their organization.
